What size should I order?Updated 7 days ago

Men's BootsOur boots are designed with a generous fit, typically resulting in a larger overall volume and length compared to standard US sizing. To ensure the most comfortable and accurate fit, we strongly recommend ordering half a size smaller than your typical US shoe size. For instance, if your average US shoe size across different brands is a 10 in regular width, we recommend selecting a 9.5D in our boots. We do not offer size 12.5, and we do have widths (D, E, and EEE) in our boot collections. We only offer D and EE widths in our Chelsea Boots. Most customers wear the same size across all of our Grant Stone boot styles.

Men's Shoes—For our Plain Toe Bluchers, Moc Toe Derbies, Longwings, and Bucks, we recommend ordering half a size smaller than your typical US shoe size. For instance, if your average US shoe size across various brands is a 10 in regular width, we recommend selecting a 9.5D in our shoes. We do not have size 12.5 and we offer D, E and EEE widths in our shoe collection. We do not offer shoes in EE widths.

In contrast, our Cap Toe Oxfords, Fairfield Oxfords, and Coast Sneakers are designed to fit true to your standard US shoe size. Therefore, we advise ordering the same size you typically wear in other US shoe brands.

Penny LoafersWe recommend ordering half a size smaller than your typical US shoe size. If you already have Grant Stone boots, customers typically wear the same size. Tassel LoafersWe recommend ordering half a size smaller than your typical US shoe size. If you already have Grant Stone boots, customers typically wear the same size. Women's Boots—Our women’s boots (Nora, Josephine Chelsea, and Combat boots) are designed with a generous fit. We designed these to fit true to your standard women’s US shoe size. Therefore, we advise ordering the same size you typically wear in other US shoe brands.

For example, if your average women’s US shoe size is 7, then our Grant Stone size 7 will likely provide the most comfortable fit.

Women's Loafers—The women's Clara Penny loafer generally fits true to your standard women's US shoe size. However, some women have found that going up a half size from their typical women's US shoe size results in a better fit.

Please list some of your favorite brands and sizes for a specific recommendation, and email us with those details. Suppose you'd like to try a couple of sizes side by side. In that case, you can order two items and return whichever you prefer (customers shipping outside the US are encouraged to contact us in advance for sizing assistance). *Items returned will incur a restocking fee.*

If you have received an order and would like guidance or feedback, we are happy to help. Please provide a photo of your laced boots or shoes on your feet while wearing appropriate socks. This will allow us to evaluate the spacing and understand your experience.

When taking the photo:

  • Ensure your heel is fully back in the footwear and the laces are snug.

  • Take a photo from directly above (birds-eye view).

  • Mark the photo to indicate the widest part of your foot and the end of your toes.

In addition to the photo, please also describe:

  • The height of your instep (high, moderate, or low).

  • Indicate whether the widest part of your foot aligns with the widest part of the boot/shoe. If not, indicate whether it is in front or behind the designed area.

  • Any additional feedback is helpful.
