This Dark Oak Roughout upper is from Charles F. Stead and is a low-maintenance leather. It does not need to be conditioned as smooth-grained leather would require. Indeed, the leather is similar to C.F.Stead's Waxed Commander tannage; however, the wax content is much lower for the Dark Oak Roughout but has a much higher oil content than the Waxed Commander. This is an excellent leather for those who want minimal routine care.
